![]() Jennifer Fairfax Bio An experienced adoption practitioner and advocate, Jennifer Fairfax handles domestic and international adoptions, second parent adoptions, parenting, surrogacy and donor agreements for heterosexual couples, gays, lesbians (LGBT), stepparents and single parents interested in working with adoption agencies and direct placements. She also advises clients regarding foreign adoptions and the re-adoption or finalization process in the United States. In addition to her adoption services, Jennifer works with clients who are interested in growing their families through the use of assisted reproduction technology (ART), whether using a surrogate or a donor; and has experience representing donors, surrogates and intended parents. Jennifer serves as an appointee to the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland, representing children in contested adoption cases and represents adoptive and/or birth parents in contested adoptions. She teaches continuing legal education courses for other legal professionals for the Montgomery County Bar on adoption and representing LGBT clients; state-wide MICPEL legal education seminars on adoption and drafting surrogacy contracts. Jennifer has presented seminars for George Washington University Lesbian Services Program (working with the Whiteman-Walker clinic), RESOLVE, local parenting groups and organizations on the issues of adoption, surrogacy, family planning, LGBT legal issues and children’s issues. Jennifer practices in all Maryland and District of Columbia courts, as well as the Maryland Federal courts. She was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in January 2006. < Back |
